Irigithathi first partnered with 410 in 2017 and its name means first born. Even though the community is known for farming, many community members make a living in the tourism industry since many come to climb Mount Kenya mostly during June, July, and December. The Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA) started mission work here many years ago. They planted a hospital, a medical school, a secondary school, and churches. The community is one of only two in Kenya to have a home for children with disabilities.
